Teachers Pay Teachers: I will admit, I used to be apprehensive about visiting a website full of wonderful resources that wanted more of my valuable and limited teacher salary money. BUT, all of this time, I was missing out on the many FANTASTIC, FUN, INNOVATIVE, INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND CREATIVE LESSONS available! There are several free resources and brilliantly designed handouts you can download when you create a free account. If you find essential units you cannot live without, but are not free, GO FOR IT! It is very well worth it (and typically reasonably priced)!
Readwritethink.org: contains cross curricula lessons utilizing quality passages with an emphasis to improve students’ key reading, writing, and critically thinking/speaking skills needed to succeed at school. Sign up for a free account, to avoid reinventing the wheel and check out the variety of already-made lessons, paired with wonderful literature pieces, guided and independent practice activities to follow, and extended digital or hands on learning activities to instruct content skills thoroughly, for all grade levels!

Readworks.org: is another free educator website that contains THOUSANDS of cross curricula and subject area passages, specifically designed to improve students’ overall reading and comprehension levels –regardless of their diverse needs and grade level. This tool works wonderful during reading or ELA blocks of instruction, as the passages are available to whichever specific subject area and comprehension skill an educator could possibly need. Every passage includes different reading levels, to ensure students are able to learn and use the passage in small groups or independently at a level they can be successful at, in order to enhance their comprehension and particular skill. Everyday this site has new articles or related resources to explore!




Padlet is a versatile learning tool that enables teachers and students to create an artistic canvas-like wall. Each wall you create can contain cross-curricula content, tasks, projects, and informal assessments to provide students practice and application of classroom learning in a fun and engaging way! Teachers can adjust privacy settings when sharing each wall and pre-approving student responses to keep the class community environment safe and conducive to learning.

Creativecommons.org is a website that provides licensing tools that enable people to search for website content and media topics that may be shared and used legally, through copyright laws. Creativecommons.org’s licensing tools allow people to apply a free copyright license to their completed work, to permit anyone legal access to communicate, share, and use their work content.
Copyrighted work content can be searched for in creativecommons.org search engine, such as: photos, images, music clips, videos, text, articles, documents, and presentations.

EX: Zelda wants to use Tom Collins’s How to Use factmonster.com’s Dictionary document, to help demonstrate the steps needed to navigate and use its’ dictionary feature. Zelda used creatcommmons.org search engine, when she found Tom’s document. She can use and share Tom’s document legally through copyright laws, as long as Zelda gives Tom credit, by including his name with the document in her presentation.
